1) You can bring up Dante in normal conversation.
2) Your basic math skills are lacking and you don't find it to be a problem.
3) Conversations with your fellow majors include the words "modern" and "culture" (not necessarily together).
4) You laugh when someone makes a joke about Marxism and class structure.
5) Your weird little oddities are considered status quo.
That's my top 5 for now. I'll add others as I think of them.
I went to a party last night with all people from my major and started to notice some interesting trends. All we do is talk about school, problems in our department, gossip about people in the department, gripe about being overworked and underpaid and talk about future teaching assignments and our classes.
Conversation in academia is just weird. No wonder I struggled so much after I finished school the first time. I was having to adapt to a new lifestyle, a new way of conversing and even thinking for that matter. I can only imagine it being much worse this time around!! That's why I'm going to be a teacher. Avoid real life and stay in school forever!!

It is comforting to hear that. My classmates and I decided that it takes a unique kind of person to be in our program--we're all a bit weird in our own way. Most of which I did not reflect on my top 5 list.
I can only begin to guess at what law students find funny. Law suit jokes? Maybe jokes about the constitution?
See, and I feel bad, because usually I want to talk about TV and film as opposed to the intricacies of ICD-9 Codes and the latest development in EHRs.
