Estes Park

After we left Parker, Colorado (just Troy & I - his sister and brother flew back to SLC) we drove to Estes Park, Colorado. This mountain town is NW of Denver and sits at the mouth of Rocky Mountain National Park. This area is a gem - we highly recommend everyone going up there if you love nature and are up for a little hike or drive through the mountains. We got in Tuesday evening and checked into our hotel (no, we are not campers). We had enough time to run to dinner and then it was about 9pm and everything was closed! I guess it's not a party town. :)

The next morning we went hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. I spent two days before Estes planning the hike Troy and I would take. We got 1/2 mile up the trail and he had an allergic reaction to something and couldn't breathe. I was freaking out, but luckily the body has its way of survival and he threw up and after about 1/2 hour he felt better. Troy is a trooper and because he knew how much I was looking forward to the hike we kept going (it was an easy three miles). Also, as a side note, that's the reason why he looks so unhappy in most of our hiking pictures. But as you can see from the scenic shots - the mountain scenery was absolutely beautiful!

We are looking forward to going back again sometime. Except now we'll be armed with items to ward off allergic reactions.
