- Running after bikes, strollers, people, etc. that take the pedestrian path behind our house
- Ignoring me, not coming when called, and continuing to chase the above mentioned
- Getting out of his play area downstairs & trashing the basement while we are gone (this even extends to pooping in the house to teach us a lesson for leaving him for 2 hours)
- Jumping up onto the chair when I'm feeding the baby so I'll hold him too
- Crawling onto my lap when we are downstairs to snuggle with me (our dog loves his space & is NOT a cuddler)
Needless to say, the baby has been an adjustment for us all. We allow the dog to smell the baby and he is in the room when we play with the baby. The dog is really curious about the baby and I think he is figuring out that 1) the dog is a real person and 2) this person is here to stay.
Tonight the CUTEST thing happened! We were in the office and I had set the baby in the bouncer in his room (the two rooms share a wall and the doorways form an L shape so you can look into both rooms from the same spot in the hallway). The baby was getting fussy and I walked into the room to give him his binkie and walked back to the doorway between the two rooms. The dog had followed me into the baby's room and back out. When I looked at the baby again I noticed this:
No big deal, right? But take a closer look and you'll notice a green stuffed animal on the baby's lap. A cute little baby toy? No - a DOG toy. The dog frequently carries it around, wrestles with it, plays tug o war with us, and likes us to toss it so he can run after it. I like to think he shared it with the baby to comfort him. Or the other option is the dog wanted some attention and was hoping the baby would play! Either way - it was dang cute and I had to take a picture!

Awww, he gave the baby his lovie. That's such a sweet pup. Wait til the baby begins eating in the high chair - the dog will be his best friend.
That is so sweet!
