Over the weekend we decided to hang up some more shelves. We had so much luck hanging shelves in the kitchen that we decided to put up some in the living room. The kitchen shelves were from IKEA and very easy to put up. We just put anchors into the wall and screwed the shelf directly into the wall. You can see the screw from the front, so it doesn't look as neat and tidy as the living room shelves. These are a bit fancier--we got them from Bed, Bath and Beyond as a wedding gift. These shelves require the screws to be anchored into the wall and then the shelves hook onto the screws and hang from them. We had a few problems and ended up with four holes in the wall. The anchors were pushing all the way through the wall and falling down behind the drywall. These holes were not small--they will need to be patched with putty and the wall repainted before we move. (Or we can leave the shelves hanging up when we leave. :)) Luckily, we were able to hang the shelves in front of the holes so they're fine for now.
I attached a few pictures of our home decorating. My sis in law is right--basically, I just do what I want and then later Troy will tell me, "That looks really good. I'm glad we hung some things up." We still have a way to go--pictures I need to get framed before they can be hung, but it's nice to cover up some of the white walls.

This is our kitchen -- we just hung up the shelves on the right.

Our new living room shelves in the "music corner."

A close-up of the same thing.

My husband watching the end of the NCAA game. The curtains came with the apartment. They look gold in the right light. Our landlords are so nice.

I love what you guys did, we need to come see it in person. You have a really nice flair for that stuff...could be an alternate career path! Great job!
Oh and to answer your question, yes, both of the boys are related to Steve when it comes to the food thing. Today I licked a spoon with yogurt on it before I gave it to Luke and he said, "Uh, Mom, I don't really want that spoon anymore, not after you licked it."
Great job decorating! Can you come help me with my house?
